NCERT is a book that is orthodoxically followed by every students. It is strictly mentioned in the book list of CBSE board. But it is avidly followed by every students irrespective of any boards specially by students who aim higher like JEE Mains or JEE Advanced or NEET or KVPY or any entrance examination. Try to follow in subjects specially physics, chemistry and biology. And old question of prelims and main paper are available in google. Hope it helps.
