Maths also play a vital role in Physics because there are many sections of Physics where Calculus is directly used, and it reduces the complexity of the numerical if one has a good hand in Mathematics.

Keeping in mind the trend of previous years paper, all topics had been equally covered but slight more importance given to topics of Algebra, Calculus and Coordinate Geometry.
Previous years JEE Main paper analysis suggest that more attention should be given to on Vectors and 3-D than probability or Indefinite integration as vectors and 3-D offers very less scope to the examiner, as far variety in the specific topic is concerned.
One more chapter is Complex Number, which every year consist of 2-3 problems. Hence mastering in the complex numbers, vectors, 3-D and Definite integral must be on the top priority.
To tackle the questions from Co-ordinate Geometry all aspects and the results of Algebraic Calculations of the properties of conics must be known.
Trigonometry having less weightage must not be ignored as it is scoring.
One must grasp all important formulae in Trigonometry.
Chapters like Mathematical Reasoning /Determinants must also be covered to fetch some quick marks as the questions from this chapter are relatively simple.
