IFS (Indian Foreign Service)

IFS officers deal with foreign affairs and work in the Ministry of External Affairs. The officers are selected after years of training and clearing UPSC exam conducted every year. IFS officers handle diplomatic matters.

A Candidate passed bachelor degree in any discipline or stream  will be eligible to appear for Civil service examination. So, you can  appear for examination after the B.A in English. But, you have to qualify in Civil Services examination for the final selection for Indian foreign service (ifs). Those in the final year can also seat for preliminary exam taken by upsc every year.

As for indian forest service, no

For Indian Forest Service, a candidate must have a Bachelor's degree with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering of any of recognized University. Therefore for only science background.

Yes, you can become Indian Foreign Service Officer after BA English but the same doesn't apply to Indian Forest Service Officer. To  go in field of Indian Foreign Service, the educational eligibility criteria suggests that a candidate should hold a degree from any of the recognized universities or must have an equivalent qualification. While to go in the field of Indian Forest Service, a candidate must hold a Bachelor's degree with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering of any of recognized University.
