Hello,
For University of Madras exams, calculators are not allowed inside the examination hall.
The rules clearly mention that calculators, smartwatches, mobile phones, and other electronic devices are strictly prohibited.
So, even for BA Economics statistics exams, you cannot carry a calculator.
Hope it helps !
Hi dear candidate,
Although, in exams like statistics that involve solving large and time consuming calculations. Calculators are allowed to be taken with the candidates within the exam hall but at the end it completely depends on the university itself. It would be better if you can confirm with your concerned faculty.
BEST REGARDS
Hello Aspirant,
Calculator policy at the University of Madras (Chepauk) will vary according to the exam body in question. IDE (Institute of Distance Education) exams do not allow calculators with any kind of written markings on them (especially the reverse side or in context) and could lead to being classified as malpractice even if it was unintentional. The same can be said for the Ramanujan Institute, which does not allow calculators or electronic devices in exams.
In a more general context, there are not many Indian universities that allow non-programmable scientific calculators for degree level exams, but typically do not allow programmable calculators or graphing calculators.
Hey ya ,
For your university exams you can most probably allowed to take a calculator along with you , and for subjects like statics mathematics where u have to do calculation you are allowed to take the calculator with u . But for your specific university i suggest you to coordinate with your batchmates and professors for the same thankyou .
Hey,
Thanks for reaching out.
If you are allowed to carry calculator in exams then you can definitely carry the calculator in your examination hall. But if you're not allowed then you can't carry calculator.
