YES! you can get admission even without GATE score.but you need to know more about this.

GATE is common entrance exam conducted by IIT's.every year any of 8 iit's will conduct this exam to give admission to the students who are seeking admission in post -graduation course(M.E/M.TECH etc.,).this exam will reflect the relative performance of a candidate.

gate exam is compulsory for the students who all are wants to take admission in top,prestigious and most reputated institutes like IIT's and NIT's,other top government colleges.

based on the gate score,the candidates will be selected for the respective field in their MASTER's.so it is necessary for the student to earn admission in such a best colleges.on the other hand,many private institutions also offering admissions in MASTER courses.in this case,you dont need gate score.you can earn admission via management quota or through any other entrnace exam which is conducted by that university or institution as separately.

as i said already you can get admission through any other entrance exams like the following:

• Karnatka PG-CET:

It is for karntaka colleges,in this the state quota students will get more preference over others.

• SRMJEE PG:

it is conducted by the SRM university for the students who are interested to take PG courses in their campuses all over india.

• TANCET:

it is for tamilnadu students,it is conducted by the anna university committee.for the m.tech colleges in chennai,tamilnadu.

• VITMEE:

it is for VIT admissions for the all campuses across india.

direct admission:

most of private colleges will allow you to take direct admission too.but dont fall for their fake advertisements.take suggestion or advice from any education consultant for a particular college.dont forget to consider the college's reputation.

Most of the private university conduct their own entrance test.  You can get admission into those university by answering there test. 

Also some state College take based on Btech marks. 

They form a merit list based on Btech marks
