Admisssion depend on other criteria also, like your state as cutoff varies according to Home state and other state quota.

According to previous year cut off for NIT Trichy,

for Chemical engineering closing rank for home state quota was 17930 and for other state, closing rank was 11579.

According to previous year cut off, you have chances for admission to Chemical Engineering branch if you belong to Home state.
