It would be really helpful if you can mention what exam/college/university/etc. you are referring to. It would be really helpful for us to answer.

If you're referring to Delhi University CET, then I would say there is no compulsion for joining coaching centres. YOu can freely prepare on your own. It would majorly focus on Commerce subjects of +2 and Maths as well.

Even then I would suggest you to go for self study as most of the topics required for these exams need practice rather than exploring new topics. The syllabus for IP can be found here: https://university.careers360.com/articles/ip-university-syllabus
and for JMI I suppose the syllabus can be summed up as :
Section I -
General English.
General Knowledge.
Numerical ability.
General Reasoning.
Section II -
Basics of Commerce and its applications.
