Hello Arathi,

Based on previous year cut-off, to attain a BDS seat in a government dental college, a candidate is required to score a minimum of 450 marks in NEET. A minimum of 50th percentile under general category for those who seek admissions in private dental colleges is a requirement. As you belong to reserved category therefore the SC/ST/OBC cut-off score was 146-113 .

Under 15% all india quota, you need to score more than 480 marks in neet to get BDS seat. As you have got 4o  marks so you might have a chance for getting the seat in government college.

Hi,

Cutoff varies each year and depends upon college or institute you have chosen. Along with it, some other factors becoming a deciding factor in cutoff for any course under NEET is, Number of students appeared for the entrance examination, category of the student, number of seats available for admission etc.

However, going by the previous years trends , you have very good chances and can easily get into Dental College by 300 marks in NEET being from SC Category. However, the trends may vary as the cutoff vary each year.
