The NTA score refers to the percentile and not the actual or aggregate marks scored by the candidate in the exam. It is the relative performance of a candidate with respect to the other appearing candidates. It is not the percentage of marked scored in the exam.
For example, if a candidate gets X percentile, it means that X% of the total candidates scored equal or lesser marks (raw score) than him.
The formula for calculating the NTA score is as follows: (100 X Number of candidates who appeared in the same session with raw score equal to or lesser than the candidate) / (Total number of the candidates who appeared in the session)
