hello likhit,after you rank is ou they need to see your preferences, now when you give your option entry you need to give the college you are eligible for.

For example you rank is 20,000 and we know it that you arent eligible for the top colleges. So you need to give the college which you'll be eligible for like CMRIT,New Horizon colleges of engineering at the last and put the top colleges first. 

So how you are shortlisted is suppose you have given 4 colleges 

1. R.V engineering college

2. Bmsce

3.Bmsit

4. CMRIT

now its starts checking as per your priority here the first priority is R.V so if you aren't eligible it goes for the second then third then fourth.

If you give Cmrit in the first and you arent eligible for that then there are no more colleges below that so you need to always give top colleges first and the collge you want always in the last.

In the second round of counselling you need to give the college you want in the first itself.
