in order to prepare for JEE the very first step is to be thorough with your NCERT Books , you should be well versed with each and every example , every topic and every concept , do not underestimate NCERT when you read it properly you find several topics which are the basis for complex questions, now coming to other reference books which may help you:
also, do not forget to solve lot of previous year question papers, giving mock tests and if you have your coaching study material read it and keep on practicing, also you may cover questions from NTA Abhyas.

There are various different books available for the preparation of various entrance exams like JEE, NEET, UPSC and many more.
Particularly talking for Joint Entrance Exam or JEE there are several books which are preferred by mostly students out there. There are topic wise books through which you can study to score better. Kindly check this out:
For Physics: HC Verma, Understanding physics by DC Pandey, Resnick Halidey and most important is the NCERT so don't forget to study all these as they play a huge part in building the concepts and for good preparation.
For Chemistry: NCERT, modern approach to chemical calculations, Organic chemistry by OP Tandon , Concepts of physical chemistry.
For mathematics: Sl Loney , RD Sharma, Algebra by Dr Goyal and most important NCERT.
SEE, you can easily prepare the course but for that you should be sincere and focused. Also regular studies plays a huge part in building the concepts with clearity.

There are many books available in the market now a days for JEE preparation. I think you should follow NCERT basically with it you an use
HC VERMA ,BM SHARMA for physics and
RD SHARMA , G TEWANI for mathematics and
SOLOMON'S AND FRHYLE , HIMANSHU PANDEY, K KUMAR for chemistry
