Can we understand definite integration without knowing indefinite integration
hello,
Definite integral is a formal calculation of area beneath a function, using infinitesimal silvers.Integrals may represent the area of a region the accumulated value of a function changing over time is called a definite integral.
In definate integration lso known as anti differentiation ,is the reversing of the processof differention.Instead of having a set of boundary values, one only finds an equation that would produce the integral due to differentiation without having to use the values to get a definite answer.
The difference b/w definite and indefinite is in definite integral of f(x) is a number and represents the area under the curve f(x) from x=a to x=b.Indefinite integral of f(x) is a function.it is important that u can understand indefinite integration also while solving problems.
thank you.
Hello
For solving integration, you have to know the integration of various functions like trigonometric, logarithmic etc. Now, in indefinite integration, you are not given the upper and lower limit. For definite integration, you have to apply the limit after doing integration. So, it is necessary that you have a knowledge of integration to solve definite and indefinite integration.
