Quantitative section can onky be mastered through practice. You would require 8-10 months for consideration and preparing well enough. Join a coaching class like TIME, CpLC, Catking, Careerlauncher. You should devote 4 months for full preparation and solve weekly mock exams. After that devoting 1month for mock tests for each section, and then 1month for all sections together. You would need to correct and recrify mistakes and weaknesses should be focussed. In the end, just revision and more mock exams will help you alot. You should sokve more problems from bokks lkke Arun Sharma, RS agarwal, Chandresh agarwal. Try to give mock tests every week and revise them frequently to avoid mistakes. See If you are preparing for next year CAT exam by yourself then you can start preparing by making your basics strong by using books like Arun Sharma which is pretty good for quantitative ability questions because of its description and all types of questions.

If you want to improve your score in this year CAT exam then as very less time is left for CAT exam so quickly brush up with your basics and start giving lots of online mock test and analyse them which will help you in overcoming your mistakes and come up with a strategy to attempt your paper which will definitely help you in improving your marks and percentile.

Not only that analysing mock paper's solution after analysing will also help you to know your strength and weakness which will help you in attempting easy questions first so as to avoid any silly mistakes and eliminate chance of missing any easy question. After that you will have enough time to attempt medium level questions so this will lead you to improve your speed and accuracy leading to increase in the marks.
There are many online sites like hitbullseye which allows you to give lot of mock test with a good predicted percentile.

All the best for your preparations and exams!!
