Gaurav, you haven't mentioned your CAT score and your Graduation percentage. Assuming a rough percentage of 80 for CAT and 50% in your Graduation, you have a decent shot at the new IIMs. On an general note, the previous cut off percentiles for the new IIMs have been around 70-80 percentile and you surely do make it to the cut offs. IIM Jammu, Udaipur, Raipur, Kashipur, Ranchi, Bodhgaya, Tiruchirappalli, Rohtak, Shillong, Sambalpur and Sirmaur are the IIMs which have cut off percentiles lesser than your score. If you look at individual IIM cut offs, you may have a fair idea of your chances:

You have decent chance at IIT Kharaghpur and IIT Madras. The shortlisting criteria for each of the IIMs and the IITs is different.

IIM Udaipur is another IIM whose cut offs we want you to have a look at. You can make it to shortlist:

As of now, only IIM Rohtak has announced that it will not participate in the CAP session. So we do not have idea of which IIMs will have their individual selections. So please visit our page at: https://bschool.careers360.com/articles/cap for more information.

You've a pretty decent CAT score and you have good chances of getting a newer IIM or IIT if you perform well in the subsequent selection rounds. But going for the newer IIMs like IIM Amritsar, Bodhgaya, Jammu and others won't be a very good choice. Instead you can check out some older colleges with strong alumni network like
  • BIM Trichy
  • Great Lakes Chennai
  • GIM Goa
  • FORE School of Management Delhi
  • TAPMI Manipal and other colleges.

These colleges would be better than going for the fledgling IIMs or IITs. But if you manage to get Vinod Gupta School of Management, IIT Kharagpur you should definitely go for it.

Good Luck
