If you are good at academics, practical exposure and have a done a intern from a good place then you can try for PSU's. PSU's and few companies come for hiring students.

Chemical engineering has much scope but less in india. In other countries it has much scope and it is good too. It requires a lot of practical study. So its your interest and choice.

Definetly it has good placement and the chances of it increases because has a low nos of aspirant as compare to any other branches like CS.
