NEET examination is conducted for 720 marks , out of that chemistry has weightage of 180 marks .

If you are asking about chapter wise weight age in Chemistry for neet examination then some of the important chapters with highest weightage is given below

  • Coordination Compounds- 9% weightage
  • p-Block, d- and f-Block Elements- 9% weightage
  • Thermodynamics- 8%
  • Equilibrium -6%
  • Chemical bonding and molecular structure- 5%
  • Solutions- 5%
  • Organic Chemistry: Basic Principles & Techniques- 4%
  • Alcohols, Phenols and Ethers :-4%
  • Aldehydes, Ketones and Carboxylic Acids- 4%

As per the 2020 NEET pattern following is the marks distribution:-

Physics 45 questions 180 marks

Chemistry 45 questions 180 marks

Biology 90 questions 360 marks.

Following is the weightage for chemistry per topic:-

Chemical Bonding and Molecular Structure 5%

Thermodynamics 8%

Equilibrium 6%

Organic Chemistry basic principles 4%

Hydrocarbons 3%

Solutions 5%

p d and f block elements 10%

Coordination compounds 9%

Chemistry is divided into Inorganic, Physical and Organic chemistry. For inorganic chemistry, you must refer to the NCERT.Coordination points get 9% of weightage. Thermidynamics takes the 8% and Equilibrium takes the 6% weightage slots respectively. Chemical Bonding and Organic structure carries the 5% weightage slot and rest of the topics carry 2-3% weightage in the exam paper.Chemical Bonding, Molecular structure, Solutions, Block Elements, Alcholos, Phenols and Ehters.
