Colourless plastid are known as what?
Hi,
Colourless plastids are also known as leukoplasts. These leukoplasts are found in storage organs. these lack grana and photosynthetic pigments as well. these are again divided into three types- Amyloplast, aleuronoplast and Elaioplast.
Amyloplast are those leukoplast that store starch granules and are found in ones such as potato tuber, rice , wheat etc
Alenuroplast are those leukocytes that store proteins and are found in plants like wheat grains
Elaioplast are those leukocytes that store lipids and are found in endosperm of castor seeds.
hope it helped
Good Luck, :)
