Hi Rahul,

To give any Engineering competitive examination like JEE Mains, you need to be in the Top 20 percentile of your respective board or score at least 75% overall.

The FIVE subjects that are taken into consideration while calculating your marks out of 500 are-

  • Physics
  • Chemistry
  • Mathematics
  • Any Language, like English
  • Any optional subject, like CSC or IP

The most important thing to keep in mind is that if you want admission in any IIT/NIT/IIIT/GFTI's, you have to be in the top 20 percentile in the same year or the previous year.

For example, if you give JEE Mains in 2019, then you need to be in the top 20 percentile of 2019 or 2018.

2017 Board result will not be counted.

Hope this helps you.

All the best!!!
