The Magnetic Field Intensity or Magnetic Field Strength at a point is defined as the force that unit north Pole experiences when it is placed in that field or it can be also defined as degree to which a magnetic field can magnetise a material is represented in terms of magnetic intensity.

  • It is given by,H =n i where,nis number turns per unit length of a toroidal solenoid carrying a currenti.
  • It is a vector quantity and its SI unit is Am 1 .
