let me make you clear degree and b.tech are not two different things , B.tech itself  a degree, a degree is more like qualification certificate which includes what degree you have pursued , degree are of two types - under graduate and post graduate

under graduate degree can be pursued after completing your 12th standard and post graduate can be pursued after having bachelors degree.

B.tech is an under graduate degree and yes it is a good choice to fulfill your dreams.
