Hello aspirant,

Both ANM (Auxiliary Nurse Midwifery) and GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery) are nursing diploma programs; however, GNM provides more advanced training and a wider range of practice than ANM.  While ANM graduates usually work in primary care or community health settings, GNM graduates can work as registered nurses in hospitals.  The "better" course ultimately comes down to personal preferences and career ambitions.

Thank you

Hope it helps you

Hello,

ANM and GNM are both diploma courses in nursing. But ANM focuses on basic health care and community-based roles, while GNM includes hospital-based care and roles. If you want to know which is the better course, it depends on the individual, but in the career aspect, GNM offers you a broader scope.

I hope it will clear your query!!

ANM (Auxiliary Nursing Midwifery) is a 2-year diploma course focused on basic healthcare and midwifery, mainly preparing students for rural and community health work. GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery), on the other hand, is a 3- to 3.5-year diploma course that provides in-depth training in nursing, patient care, and hospital work. Between the two, GNM is generally considered better in terms of career growth and job opportunities, as it provides more comprehensive training and allows for further studies like B.Sc. Nursing.

ANM means Auxiliary Nurse Midwifery and GNM means General Nursing and Midwifery.

ANM is a 2-year course. It teaches basic nursing skills and how to take care of pregnant women, babies, and work in rural areas. After this course, you can work in small clinics or government health programs.

GNM is a 3.5-year course including internship. It gives more knowledge about nursing, hospitals, and patient care. After this course, you can work in hospitals as a nurse or study more like BSc Nursing.

If you want a better job and future in nursing, GNM is better than ANM. But if you want to start work early and are okay with simple jobs, you can do ANM.
