Urochordata -

a. Excretion is via neural gland.

b. Open circulatory system is present.

c. Notochord is present in the tail of larva.

d. Notochord disappears in the adult.

Eg. Herdmania, Ascidia, Salpa, Pyrosoma



Cephalochordata -

a. Excretion is via protonephridia (solenocytes). b. Closed circulatory system is present.

c. Notochord extends from head to tail region.

d. Notochord persists throughout the life.

Eg. Amphioxus
