differentiate between surface and groundwater describe the factor responsible for degradation of water
Hello ,
Surface Water is the Water that are in Reservoirs occurring on the Surface ,where as ground water is the water that is stored beneath the earth's Surface.
Surface water includes the freshwaters that are present in Lakes , rivers, wet land ,ponds etc .It divide into saturated and Unsaturated level of the ground. Surface of water are widely used in all over the world. there are two types of water mainly found in the surface Hard water (primarily contains calcium and Magnesium) and soft water .
Groundwater present below the rocky layer. Rainfall and snowmelt can runoff into streams or soak into the ground. The process of water soaking into the ground to become groundwater.
Factors responsible for Degradation of water:-
- Acid Precipitation
- sewage water
- Oil pollutants
- Industrial waste
- Damping
- Increasing Industries
- Eutrophication
- Frequently pumping of ground Water etc
I hope this will help
Thank you :)
Hi Aspirant!
Ground water is the water which is present deep down under the ground, means present in vast acquifers present underground and can be pumped out to the surface by different methods. surface water, as the name suggests, is the water present on the surface, lakes, rivers, streams and is drawn into the public water supply by an intake. The important factors responsible for degradation of water are:
- Sewage water dumped directly in water bodies
- Industrial waste
- Oil pollution
- Acid Rain
- Eutrophication
Thankyou!
