The difference between groundwater and surface water is given below:-
Groundwater is the water which is present underground and they are pumped out of the ground after drilling a deep well to get them.
They are less prone to pollution as they are present below the Earth's surface
Whereas ,
Surface water is the water found on the surface of the earth . For example, the water in lakes, rivers, and streams .
Surface water are more prone to pollution when compared to groundwater
Some of the factors responsible for water degradation are-
