You cannot get direct admission in Government Engineering College because the Government Engineering colleges is is bound to follow some rules and regulation set up by the respective government technical education department. For admission in this Government Engineering College in karnatak candidates has to security least 60% marks in 12th class examination with physics chemistry and mathematics and English and have to appear entrance test like KCET. According to the ranking in Karnataka entrance test which is conducted by  KEA  Karnataka examination authority.

You can't get direct admission into government engineering colleges as the admissions in these colleges are based on the rules and regulations fixed by the state government. One has to appear for an entrance exam/ participate in the counselling process to get admission into a government engineering college. You have to appear in entrance exams such as JEE to get admission.
