Correct Answer: Only I

Solution : Given:
I. 7 – 5 + 1 × 3 ÷ 6 = 20
II. 1 × 7 + 6 – 4 ÷ 2 = 40

I. 7 – 5 + 1 × 3 ÷ 6 = 20
On interchanging the numbers in the first equation, we get –
7 – 5 + 6 × 3 ÷ 1 = 20
On solving the L.H.S. of the equation –
= 7 – 5 + 6 × 3
= 7 – 5 + 18
= 20
II. 1 × 7 + 6 – 4 ÷ 2 = 40
On interchanging the numbers in the second equation, we get –
6 × 7 + 1 – 4 ÷ 2 = 40
On solving the L.H.S. of the equation –
= 6 × 7 + 1 – 2
= 42 + 1 – 2
= 41 ≠ 40

So, only the first equation is correct. Hence, the first option is correct.
