Hey there

These are just rumours and the placement depend on colleges some colleges have good placement for core branches and some colleges don't so in the colleges where core companies come mechanical has better placement than ece and those where core companies don't come ece has better placement as ece are mostly places in it companies and their strength is also less in almost every College.

So these are just rumours placement depend on colleges.

Good luck

hey,

According to me placement in Mechanical, India has good infrastructure for Manufacturing and has a very good service sector which supplements the need for Mechanical engineers.Placement wise, Mechanical can be preferred over ECE if staying in India after Graduation.

There are a number of Government Jobs for Mechanical engineers and on the other hand there are almost zero govt. jobs for ECE branch.
