Hello,

It is always advisable to not have gaps while preparing for MBA admission, as this can create some doubts about your ability in the interviewers mind.

MBA entrances are more or less, aptitude based papers and most of the colleges believe that not more than 1 year is required to prepare for it.

I can suggest you to go for a job or any course where you can learn something new and prepare for MBA side by side.

Moreover, if you have very genuine reasons to show your 2 year gap in studies, you may not face much of a problem.

Always better to gain some experience, rather than a gap in MBA Preparation.

Hope this helps.

Thank You.

Hello Vikash,

Two year gap does not matter, until you are eligible for placements of various companies.
While going for MBA, the gap does not matter.
There are few companies which don't prefer gaps in between education, but there are companies which interview and hire you, on the basis of your knowledge level.
If you have experience of 2 years, then the gap does not matter. If you don't have experience, then it depends on your skill set and performance in the interview process of company.

Hope this information is helpful.
All the best...!!!

Hi Vikash,
No it doesn't any matter. In two years if you aren't working yet or did not do any higher studies then you have to elaborate that 2years gap positively whatever you did, in the PI time. Otherwise it doesn't matter.
In those two things, if you had not done any of these, then I will recommend you to do any certification courses related to MBA or you can join NGOS or you can do part-time jobs along with your MBA preparation.
Look CAT demands for a strong profile. In the profile it just not about academics or grades. Along with your study, you had done something that you can add your CV. That's will value add to your profile definitely.

But over those things, prepare well for CAT. Aim for 97-99 percentile to get calls from top B-Schools then all will be sorted. Also prepare for GD-PI.

Hope you get it. Best of luck for your presentation.
