Yes, of course that's very much important and lapng with that the balance is also very important in between the speed and accuracy as we certainly lose the speed in case of accuracy and vivce-versa.

Some important things for making these things efficient you can do:

Read the directions specified for the examinations before attempting the questions.
Skip difficult questions and don't invest too much time on that as compensating those ones will make you to solve many more others.
Try to solve the easier ones first.
