Yes it absolutely works for the getting admission in the college under the sports quota category.
But also it depends on college to college some of the private college has its own terms and conditions but in general all of it accepts the certificates.
For example, Jadavpur University takes admission in BTech through sports quota and it accepts the National sports certificates.
