BAMS or Bachelor of Ayurveda Medicine and Surgery is basically an undergraduate degree programme that is designed to make students familiar with the concepts of Ayurveda and to help them use it for the treatment of patients. BAMS incorporates Ayurveda with the concepts of modern medicines and students are taught a combination of both as part of the course curriculum. Ayurveda is one of the oldest systems of medicine and traces its roots to Vedic times. It is based on the curative properties of herbs and its medicines are known for the natural elements that they contain.

The fee structure of varies from college to college, state to state throughout India. Anyways the following are few of the colleges with their respective fees in India.

1. Patanjali Ayurved College, Haridwar, Uttarakhand. The total fees here is approximately Rs 9.7 Lakhs.

2. Sumatibhai Shah Ayurved Mahavidyalaya, Pune, Maharashtra. The total fees is approximately Rs 7.9 Lakhs.

3. Bharatiya Vidhyapeeth Deemed University College of Ayurved, Pune, Maharashtra. The total fees is approximately Rs 15.7 lakhs.

4. DR GD Pol Foundation YMT Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital PG Institute, Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra. The total fees is approximately Rs 12.5 Lakhs.

5. DY Patil University, Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra. The total fees here is approximately Rs 6 lakhs.
