Dear Student,

What is electomagnet?
An electromagnet is a type of magnet in which the magnetic field is produced by an electric current. Electromagnets usually consist of a core which is insulated by wire wound.
And the magnetic core concentrates the magnetic flux.

Ferrimagnetic : These substances occur when magnetic moments are allingned in in both directions (parallel as well as anti-parallel) but in unequal numbers.  These are weakly attracted to magnetic fields. Also on heating, these substances will lose their ferrimagnetism altogether.
Examples are magnetite and ferrites of zinc and magnesium .

Ferrimagnetism and ferromagnetic materials are used for making electomagnet's core because of their property of high magnetic permeability coupled with low electrical conductivity (which helps prevent eddy currents).
