To find the total reactance of a capacitor and an inductor connected in series:

1. Inductor Reactance ():

Use the formula:

X_L = 2\pi f L

2. Capacitor Reactance ():

Use the formula:

X_C = \frac{1}{2\pi f C}

3. Total Reactance ():

Combine the two

X_T = X_L - X_C

Key Points:

If , the circuit behaves inductively.

If , the circuit behaves capacitively.

If , the circuit is at resonance with no reactance ().

You’ll need the frequency, inductance, and capacitance to calculate it.

To find the reactance of a capacitor and inductor connected in series, you can use the formula

Xeq=Xc+Xxl

Reactance is the opposition to alternating current (AC) caused by capacitors and inductors. It's represented by the symbol X and is measured in ohms.

Xc=1/2πfc

where f is the frequency and \(C\) is the capacitance.

XL =2 π f L

where f is the frequency and \(L\) is the inductance.

Have a great day!!!
