From the 75% criteria to get eligible for IIT or NIT in JEE mains or JEE advance, they mean that you must score a minimum percentage which is the aggregate marks of all the 3 subjects only, namely Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM).
Furthermore, The Eligibility criteria for JEE mains states that : He/She should have passed the qualifying exam with Physics, Mathematics, and any one of (Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Technical Vocational Subject).
Students can appear in the JEE Main exam for three consecutive years.
