Andhra Pradesh, the marks required in the Polytechnic Common Entrance Test (POLYCET) for BC-D category students can vary each year depending on the number of applicants, seat availability, and the course’s popularity. The MPC stream is often competitive, especially in government polytechnics. While there is no fixed pass mark beyond the qualifying score (30 out of 120 for general category—BC, SC, ST are sometimes given relaxation), securing admission in top government colleges often requires a rank within the first few thousand. For BC-D category, your rank can be slightly higher and still get admission due to reservation benefits. However, for in-demand branches like Mechanical, Civil, or Electronics, the cutoff is high .

Also, apply to multiple colleges during counseling and keep an eye on spot rounds where vacancies sometimes arise unexpectedly.

Thank you!
