It depends on the branch of engineering and the category of the candidate. For popular branches like Computer Science Engineering, the closing ranks generally range from around 3,000 to 16,000 in different counselling phases. Electronics and Communication Engineering usually closes between roughly 6,000 and 21,000, while Electrical and Electronics Engineering seats tend to fill up by ranks between 15,000 and 26,000. Mechanical Engineering typically has higher closing ranks, somewhere between 31,000 and 35,000, with Civil Engineering going even further, around 41,000 to 45,000. Chemical Engineering seats might be available up to ranks near 50,000. Other branches like Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence and Data Science have closing ranks that usually fall in the 8,000 to 22,000 range.
