There are a number of scholarship schemes in India for economical weaker section people. CBSE has a scholarship scheme for single girl child based on merit.

• There is a scholarship by government of India called National Merit-cum-Means Scholarship Scheme which is for students in 8th standard. For eligibility, the child must have a score of 55% in 7th standard. The child will get around 500 Rs. Per month for 4 years according to this scholarship.
• Another option is national scholarship test in which the scholarship will be given to the toppers of the test conducted and scholarship will be given.

The girl can also participate in various talent and knowledge examination conducted in India to win prizes and scholarships. Some examination are as follows:

• ZIO
• UCO
• NSTSE
• Various Olympiads

All these exams will help her in getting useful prizes and cash prizes too.
Other than these, there are various government schemes for girls like AICTE Pragati scholarship.
