You have good marks and you are belonging from obc category.. At the time of selection, their are many things that should be considered at the time of selection..
Maybe the other candidates belong from low category ..and may the their are other factors also..
We don't know the reason..
But we are predicting these things may be the reason..
But you don't worry.. You will get seat in next counselling, it's difficult to say about government college but yes you can get seat in private college in karnataka..

Ramana, there are sub Categories in OBC as well. There are A,B,C,D and E. The reservation is different across each Category. For example, BC-C has only 1% while the rest have more than that. Now it is not clear which Sub Category your friend belongs to. And there are AU and SVU areas in AP. Admission also depends on that. It also depends on the choices during choice filling.
