If you are in India, most students learn programming no matter what is your stream.
I worked with MBBS graduate turned into Software Engineer. Commerce guys are common. Chemical Engineer becoming Software Professional after 10+ years of successful chemical engineering career. Many Automobile Engineer becoming Software Experts. All this is common.
Many commerce grads learn software programming and venture into software jobs.
A classic saying, Engineer needs to be born is True. Same for Software Engineer.
Don't worry, you become by doing it, unless you are absolutely misfit by nature.
