if you do not want to continue engineering its okay and you need not pay the college fee of remaining semester as you will not be continuing to study in that college. you have to just inform college in advance and ask for your transfer certificate - tc from the college.

You need not pay the fees for the next semester but if you are already studying in some ongoing semester, you have to pay for that fees. Also, keep in mind you would not be getting a degree for the same since you will be leaving the course midway.

Every college has different policy under which it works. Generally, for each semester the fees is taken just before the semester begins. If there is refund policy then you will get refund of your remaining fees which is possible to be refunded. After dropping you don't need to pay any amount of fee to the college further.
