So for NDA (national defence academy) examination, You don't get to select if you want to do software engineering from NDA or anything of your preference. All you get to select is which force i.e. Air force, Army or Navy you would preferably want to go to. And then based on your written exam of NDA and SSB Interview, You are assigned the forces and then based on the needs of your forces you are given course to study in NDA. Coming back to your physical training question, well physical fitness is Mandatory in all fields of all armed forces, so there's no running away from it.
