It depends on what exams did you apply for, i.e. (only paper 1) or (paper 1 and paper 2). Because as far as I'm aware, paper 2 will be held All India on 8th Jan while for paper 1, you will be allotted specific dates.
Eg: if you applied for both the papers (1&2) and you were allotted x jan(for correct date check your admit card) , then yes you have to give exam both the days ( i.e. 8 jan and x jan).
Otherwise if you didn't fill up for paper 2, only be giving exam for B.tech, then you have to give exam only one day.

Check ur HALL TICKET( admit card ).....
U have to give only one day.......
Its not a type of random xam ......its national level xam
Sooo for u a specific day and time( shift) is announced earlier....
Just goo and download ur admit card....and the date given in ur admit card is ur apperance date..

You have to appear only on one day...
