Please mention about which stream you want to know.

If you are asking in general then it is just a bar which is kept as eligibility criteria by college , institutes and organizations for selection or admission. So it is important to score above 60% which is quite stable and makes easy to go through the process. There are institutes like IIT and NIT where you can take admission only if you have 75% in 12th

Many MNCs hire candidates with eligibility criteria above 65 -75 also.

But there are many other option also where your skills will be considered over your academics score.
