Biotechnology engineering or BSc in Biotechnology can be done if a student is interested.
Biotechnology engineering is the study, research and development of bio-organism, micro-organism and cell functions in living beings. The course combines engineering with other subjects like chemistry, microbiology, genetics, bio-chemistry. BSc in Biotechnology is similar to engineering but engineering goes more deeper than it.
For B.Tech and BSc in Biotechnology entrance exam is to be given which varies depending upon different institutes, colleges and universities.
After BSc, MSc then PhD can be done. If B.Tech is taken then M. Tech can be done.
Students with biotechnology degrees can work as laboratory technicians in various research centres or hospitals or healthcare centres.
Rise in production of modified crops has also increased the demands in the market. This has helped in increasing the scope of employment for students pursuing Biotechnology.

After BSc in Biotechnology you can go for MSc in it then PhD (if you have interest in research).If you have a passion for teaching then you can apply in various schools or colleges or universities across India to become a teacher. If you want to work in government sector then you can go for IAS, IPS, etc by giving exams conducted by UPSC. If you want to work in banking sector then you can give the respective exams and work in banks.
