Hi,

Tasks and duties

Retrieving eggs from patients.

Running tests on eggs.

Performing or assisting with in vitro fertilisation and other procedures.

Studying embryos from the beginning of conception.

Maintaining clinical records.


To become an Embryologist, you usually have to complete a bachelor degree in biology (https://www.seek.com.au/learning/course/bachelor-of-science-biology/at-university-of-southern-queensland?campaigncode=lrn:skj:cg:howto:alpha) or biological science (https://www.seek.com.au/learning/course/bachelor-of-science-biological-science?campaigncode=lrn:skj:cg:howto:alpha) at university, followed by a postgraduate qualification in a relevant field. To get into the degree courses you usually need to be 17 years or older and have completed Year 12 with an appropriate Universities Admission Index.
