How can I calculate my percentile by my marks

Hey Aspirant,

Percentile is basically a measure of your performance relative to other test takers. By definition it is the ratio of “number of test takers that you beat(in terms of score)” to “ total number of test takers”.

Let me make it clearer with an example. Suppose 10000 people took an entrance exam. If you get a percentile of 90, it means that you beat 9000 ( 90 % of 10000) people who took the exam. Your actual rank in this exam would be 1000.

The percentile rank formula is: R = P / 100 (N + 1). R represents the rank order of the score. P represents the percentile rank. N represents the number of scores in the distribution.
