The GATE exam requires dedicated effort and concentration throughout the preparation as it is an extensive exam with a vast syllabus. There are few things every aspirant should take care of while preparing to get a good rank- 1. Make presses of your class notes, i.e. One notebook containing all important formulas and concepts from each chapter. Make sure it should be so crisp that you can refer to all important concepts from one notebook in a few hours. 2. Focus on your strong areas: No student is good at every subject in the syllabus. It is very important to focus on your strong areas and prepare based on the weightage of each subject. The syllabus is vast so one should identify important high scoring and high weightage sections and work on them. Engineering mathematics is easy to score and holds 15-20 marks in GATE. You should make sure you get full marks in Math. 3. Full Length Test: You should be thorough with the complete syllabus once by the first week of January, and appear for full length tests. It will help you to understand your speed, accuracy and, the areas you need to work on. 4. Stability in Preparation: Most students do not score well even after putting in a lot of hard work because they are not stable while preparing.
