Hello Aspirant,

After completing your BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery), you can join the Indian Army as a doctor through the Army Medical Corps (AMC), but direct entry for BAMS graduates is not available. AMC recruitment is mainly for MBBS and BDS graduates.

However, as a BAMS graduate, you can join Indian Army Medical Services through:

  1. Territorial Army (TA) as a medical officer (on part-time basis, depending on vacancies).

  2. Ayurvedic Medical Officers under Army Medical Corps (Ayurveda division), if the posts are advertised through UPSC or state PSCs for army-run Ayurveda hospitals.

All the best for your career ahead.
