If you're interested in getting into the medical field then you need not worry about any other exam other than NEET.

NEET has replaced AIPMT and AFMC. The next NEET exam is scheduled to be conducted on 6th May 2018. You can appear for the exam only 3 times within the age limit of 17-25.

A Brief about this exam

This exam is about entrance into medical colleges by qualifying the exam which is conducted by CBSE. National Eligibility cum Entrance Test is a gateway to the medical colleges which offers better opportunities to students to get through the medical profession.

The Exam is conducted during the month of MAY and the Neet 2018 results are out during the month of JUNE.

Prime Requirements

A student can take maximum attempts for 3 times for this exam, and the student has to qualify 12th exam under Physics, Chemistry, and Biology with English as a language subject. There is a category wise cutoff for 12th passed candidates to give the exam. The student has to also pass the 10th board exam and get though it under good marks.

Students can go through the syllabus to understand the content for the exam. NCERT books are always helpful which give the students the upper edge as they can clear their basic facts relating to the subjects.

Similarities in syllabus of AIPMT, AFMC & state exam

The main exam for medical entrance i.e. NEET is organized by CBSE, there are other state examination that require same level of preparation.

In AFMC Exam there is one more additional thing that is added, which is English and Logical Reasoning. This additional section is not there in NEET.

The state board decides the syllabus for state medical entrance examination, which is subject to change every year.

Few pointers for NEET preparation:

• Study NCERT thoroughly. You mist build a good foundation for the concepts.
• Refer to any reference book of your choice. Learn the concept you previously studied in the NCERT textbooks, this helps in reinforcement.
• Towards the end, practice previous years question papers in a mock exam format to develop time management skills.

+1 and +2 subjects are equally important, so study them thoroughly

Yes. Overall preparation must be equal for both years. Only marginal difference exists in terms of importance. 

Look you have three subjects namely physics, chemistry and biology of both plus one and plus two.
Out of 720, biology is 360 , physics 180 and Chem 180.
Out of three biology is easy and scoring.
Inorganic chemistry is easy organic chemistry is a pain.
Physics paper 1 is comparatively easy than physics paper 2.
So plan accordingly.

Yes both the years have equal importance
Few tips for preprations are

• Try to read every line of NCERT book with special emphasis on -data, images and recent changes
• Try to dedicate at least 8 hours of sincere efforts for studies
• Dream about a college you want to get into and put in all that you can yo achieve.
• Try to solve at least 30 questions of physics this will make your concepts clear
• Solve last 5 years papers of NEET, AIIMS, JIPMER
• Join some National level authentic test series to evaluate your performance in real.

Yes both 11th and 12th are equally important.
Start with NCERTs. Read thoroughly and try to grasp things rather than cramming. Conceptual knowledge is what you need. For Biology, NCERTs are enough to prepare for NEET, AIIMS. However, for Physics, deeper knowledge may be required. For that, you can go for some other books like HC Verma. For Chemistry also some additional books may be required. OP Tandon is good for organic chemistry. However, it is quite lengthy and suitable for IIT aspirants. For NEET aspirants, it should be used only for reference.
Also, try to solve as many questions as you can. Solve previous year question papers, Mock tests, sample papers etc.
