If you prepare sincerely in 5 months you can get a seat in IIT by following the below guidelines

1. Plan your study well

2. Choose the right book to study. (Don't ignore NCERT books)

3. Join a Test series of any major classes like Allen or Akash. Doesn't matter which test series you take but try to solve as many sample papers.

4. Practice is the key. Practice as many problems as you can.

5. Cut off your distractions and have a disciplined life for these five months.

MHRD announces to reduce the syllabus of Jee Main and Neet 2021. Boards syllabus will also be reduced. So in this situation, it is advisable to study from NCERTs only. Study the important chapters from NCERTs as the reduced syllabus is not in our hands. Solve mathematics problems like Calculus, Differentiation, prepare organic chemistry as it requires total understanding and mechanism. So you have to prepare from NCERTs. Once the syllabus releases, you can move on to other books like HC Verma, DC Pandey, Mathematics - RD Sharma, OP Tandon for Chemistry. http://engineering.careers360.com/articles/how-prepare-for-jee-main http://engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-advanced-2020
